Your pet will even get to “help out from home” one of the days as you make a special craft to honor your friendship! Messy Masterpieces: Papier-Mâché Sculptures | age 10-15Visual ArtsStudents will learn how to build an armature, or support system, for an animal form. We will use aluminum foil, tape, newspaper, and discarded objects to build the mass of the sculpture onto the support. Then we will use wheat paste, newspaper and colored paper to add a smooth surface to the form of the animal. Finally, we will embellish the final form with bright colors of tissue, various papers, and polymer glues. You may work as an independent artist, or invite a sibling, parent partner, or friend as your assistant. This project will prepare you for those student projects your teachers may assign in school, like building a volcano! Paula will teach you lots of methods, tricks, and share resources. Printmaking Lab: Carve, Ink, Repeat | age 10-15Visual ArtsDive into the bold and creative world of printmaking! In this hands-on class, you will experiment with several printmaking methods using linocuts. Students will use linoleum and carving tools to create their own designs and print them using multiple colors of ink. This process allows you to make multiple copies of your artwork while learning how layered color printing works. You will also explore using plates to create mirror-image prints and stamped designs. This class is open to all skill levels and encourages creativity and experimentation. Join us and leave with several art pieces you can be proud of!
