Community Open & Lap Swim | all agesEventsGrab your family and friends and head to the pool for some water fun! Play games, practice swim skills, or just splash around during this shared open and lap swim time. The pool will begin as open swim, with up to two lane lines added as lap swimmers join. Open swim is lifeguard-supervised for all ages. Children 6 and under who cannot swim 20 yards must be accompanied by an adult in the water (one adult per one to three children age 6 or under). All children wearing diapers must wear swim diapers. Groups of 10+, please call ahead at (763) 241-3520. Looking to lead a healthier lifestyle? Level 1 | age 3+LessonsLevel 1 is where water exploration meets foundational swimming skills! Primary focus is on getting students comfortable with the water, basic aquatic skills, and safe practices in and around water. It's important to note that progressing through levels is unique to each individual, and it's not uncommon for a student to take swim levels more than once. Mastery and confidence are key to a lifetime of enjoyable and safe swimming. Level 2 | age 3+LessonsLevel 2 swim class is focused on horizontal motion. When swimmers put their faces in the water willingly, we can start teaching motion. We will focus on front and back float, front crawl, elementary backstroke, treading water, and sitting dives. Parent/Child: Transition | age 3+LessonsThis class is created for young swimmers working toward independent swimming but who are not yet comfortable leaving their parent/guardian. Adult and child will work together to develop skills crucial for learning to swim and promote safety in the water. Adults can expect to be in the water for the first few classes. As the session progresses, parents will transition to the pool deck and, finally, to the stands. Students will focus on learning to listen to an instructor without their parent in the water. There are no prerequisites for this class. Requirements: Child must be at least 3 years old to enroll. Parent/guardian must accompany their student at each class. Children who are not toilet trained should wear swim diapers. Parent/Child: Water Babies | age 6-24 months w/adultLessonsParent/Child: Water Babies introduces your infant/toddler to the water while teaching you techniques to safely orient them to this new environment. We will focus on kicks, floats, and submersion. You can expect a lot of songs and splashing while your child explores the water. Requirements: Child must be at least six months old to enroll. Parent or caregiver must accompany each child in the water and participate in each class. Children should wear swim diapers. Children will be introduced to flutter kicks, front and back floats, jumping in, and glides. All skills are done with parent/guardian assistance. Requirements: Child must be at least 2 years old to enroll. Parent/guardian must accompany their student at each class. Children who are not toilet trained should wear swim diapers.
