Would you rather dig your own grave than be in the spotlight? If you prefer the magic of the shadows to the glow of the footlights, the Technical Theatre Project is looking for you! This is your backstage pass to learning the professional skills that bring a production to life. This summer, our tech crew is pulling double duty! You will be the creative force behind the scenes for two major productions: our Middle/High School show, The Addams Family, and the Elementary School production. What You’ll Master This intensive, hands-on program covers the core pillars of modern stagecraft: Set Build & Props: Use power tools and artistry to construct the iconic Addams manor and various whimsical worlds. Lighting Design: Learn to hang, focus, and program lights to create that perfect "mysterious and spooky" atmosphere. Sound Engineering: Get hands-on experience with wireless microphones, sound effects, and live mixing. Digital Projections: Master the tech behind the modern stage by integrating visual projections into the storytelling. Why Join the Crew? Double the Experience: Unlike the acting tracks, our tech students get the unique experience of running two different shows, giving you twice the "booth time" and a broader portfolio. Professional Skills: Learn teamwork, problem-solving, and technical skills that translate directly to professional theatre and film sets. Every tech member receives a snazzy show shirt to wear as your "backstage blacks"! Rehearsals: Thurs-Fri July 16th-17th, Mon-Fri 20th-24th, Tues-Thurs July 28th-30th, 9am-3pm, Aug 13th 9:00-2:30; July 31st: 4pm-9pm Aug 1st: 12pm-4pm Aug 14th, 12-8 Aug 15th, 10-5:30 (students will not leave between rehearsal and performance) Performances: July 31st, 7pm; Aug 1st, 2pm; Aug 14th, 6pm; Aug 15th, 11am (Please pack a nut-free meal and snack on all dates, except Aug 1st) Strike: After Aug 15th performance This class has an early registration deadline of June 5th.
