Messy Masterpieces: Papier-Mâché Sculptures | age 10-15Visual ArtsStudents will learn how to build an armature, or support system, for an animal form. We will use aluminum foil, tape, newspaper, and discarded objects to build the mass of the sculpture onto the support. Then we will use wheat paste, newspaper and colored paper to add a smooth surface to the form of the animal. Finally, we will embellish the final form with bright colors of tissue, various papers, and polymer glues. You may work as an independent artist, or invite a sibling, parent partner, or friend as your assistant. This project will prepare you for those student projects your teachers may assign in school, like building a volcano! Paula will teach you lots of methods, tricks, and share resources.
