Ceramics: Clay Exploration
Experience the tactile art of working with clay! Designed for every level of artist, you'll start with a hand-building project to learn basic techniques, then progress to throwing on a pottery wheel. Learn to center projects, pull cylinders, and shape bowls and vases as time permits. All projects will be functional, sculptural, or decorative. Please wear old clothing to the class, as working with clay can be messy. Project Pick-up: Completed projects will be fired in the kiln and made available for pick-up one week after the last class. -

Emphasis will be on early skill development as you explore one of several hand-building techniques or start throwing clay on the potter's wheel. The first three classes will focus on working with wet clay. Paint Your Pet Project
Anyone can do a Paint Your Pet Project, regardless of art experience. Jeremy Ross, Founder of Paint & Sip Minnesota by Your Bearded Artist, will walk you through color mixing and painting techniques to get your pet’s fur and features just right. There’s no guesswork and no pressure. Paint your dog, chicken, iguana, or pig – we don’t discriminate. At the end of the event, you’ll have a frame-worthy keepsake. This event is a must for every pet lover! ONE PET PER PAINTING, PLEASE. No exceptions. Once registered, email a high-resolution digital photo to communityed@isd728.org with "Paint Your Pet Project Photo" as the subject. Uncropped, full-body shots with uncluttered backgrounds work best. This ensures your pet’s proportions are correct in the finished product. Using your photo, a grayscale outline of your pet is printed onto a canvas. Old photos or poor-quality photos aren’t great for this project. -
